Project Details

The Dunedoo Solar Farm proposal site is located approximately 2 kilometres north of the township of Dunedoo and approximately 77 kilometres north east of the city of Dubbo, within the Warrumbungle Local Government Area.

 

The proposed Dunedoo Solar Project is approved for 55 MW AC (66 MW DC) of solar PV and 60MW of battery storage. The key components of the project will include:

  • single axis tracker photovoltaic solar panels, mounted on frames;
     

  • battery containers using lithium-ion technology;
     

  • inverters, transformers and electrical conduits;
     

  • site office, site compound, access tracks and perimeter fencing;
     

  • connection via a new 66kv transmission line to Dunedoo Substation

​On 2 September 2021, the NSW Department of Planning, Industry and Environment issued a Development Consent for the project. The consent includes a number of conditions and full details can be seen on the Department of Planning, Housing & Infrastructure Major Projects Portal, linked here.

In May 2023, a Staging Request was approved, allowing the project to be constructed in stages:

  • Stage 1 - Early establishment of landscaping, intersection and road upgrade works

  • Stage 2 - Solar Farm construction works
